Breakdown
The classic disc is modeled after the 1982 film. It is fairly simple, a white resin base with fluorescent rings that glow under UV light. The options for colors for the rings are shown below.

The Legacy disc has many different items that affect the run time, appearance and price please read through the options BEFORE ordering.
- Base disc. The basic disc is a one piece disc it does not split into two pieces like Rinzler’s. It has the same density of LEDs as in the product pictures and has around 1 hour of runtime. Along with a solid silicone edge to diffuse the edge LED lighting.
- Expanding and retracting edge, this is an add on to the basic disc. The edge is made up of 36 segments that can expand when the side button is pressed, and will retract when pressed again. Except if it is a splitting disc; then the blade deploys after a small delay of the halves being separated, and retracts when the halves are brought back together.
- Splitting disc. This is an add on that allows the two halves of the disc to be separated from each other like Rinzler’s in Legacy.
- Maximum batteries. This adds another 8 batteries in total. This means that the standard disc doubles the number of batteries and gives a runtime of around 2 hours and 10 minutes. While the splitting disc adds 4 to each half this increases the runtime by around 60%, going from around 1 hour to around and 1 hour and 40 minutes.
- Denser LEDs this increases the number of LEDs in the disc, it is mostly on the internal and C shaped cutout to avoid the “sunspotting” of the LEDs. This option automatically adds in the Max batteries this is to ensure that the current draw of the LEDs remains at a safe amount for the batteries. This option will in turn decrease the runtime back down to original and effectively cancels out the advantage from having max batteries.
